Ce que dit le designer: « Level is divided into two parts. The first are the pivots, they allow a proper grip on any kind of wall and also articulate the movement of the fabric. These parts are composed of a shaft with bearings which allow rotation of the cylinder which supports the fabric. And second, canvas acrylic, which thanks to its stiffness can hold any kind of books.
Behind the product lies a message that comes once the user has used the shelf. Through its function, the object aims to bring users to the three main socializing agents; individuals, institutions and information. When someone uses the shelf to see who reads more books, it creates a relationship between people who, even in person or not, becomes a link between individuals. Something similar happens when splitting our books by type or theme. The shelf reveals the institution that we’re closer. And, always, refers to information because it represents an indication of the level of information consumed.
This project is a view of one of the characteristics of a designed product. The people arrives to society through objects, through everything that surrounds us. Maybe it will be essential to consider and think about, not how they are, but on how things should be. »
